This is a website that reflects seasonal change in America with visuals and audio from The Legend of Zelda game series. The goal of this website is to take natural environments and put them into the digital world through JavaScript libraries such as jQuery and p5.js. Over time, I plan on continuing this project and improving the interactive aspects as my skills improve with each new digital media class I take at UCSB. During my time as a camp counselor, I worked with kids of all ages and I learned that it is often tough for children under 6 years of age to grasp the idea of seasonal change over time. This video-game inspired piece is a teaching aid that incorporates familiar faces and music for kids to better understand the concept of weather change during the year. Although my target audience are kindergartners and preschoolers, anyone can enjoy the nostalgic presence this site has to offer.
